Maubec
Maubec-Vieux, because this is very different than the modern area, looks very quiet today, but in the 13th Century it was a fortified settlement under the Counts of Toulouse and part of the Comtat Venaissan, a papal territory. Over the years, ownership passed from various noble families.
The town does not have a major castle but there are structures that are illustrative of its past. A baroque parish church, a belfry clock tower and the layout of its old village with cobbled lanes and stone houses.
There are traces of the grandure that once was Maubec which is now a quiet residential town.
The belfry clock tower is from the 18th Century and has a statue of the Virgin at the top. It is the landmark of the village.
