Carovigno

Old town of white-washed buildings and beautiful medieval architecture. Ruled through the Middle Ages by Byzantines, Normans, Swabians and Aragonese. The town was passed to the noble families, like the Dentice di Frasso, who transformed the aa military fortress into a stately residence. Take time to walk to the 12th Century Dentice di Frasso Castle that was expanded in the 14th and 15th C.

Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo) is the 14th-century cathdrale in the town, it was remodeled with Renaissance elements. The Santuario della Madonna del Belvedere offers panoramic views and rock-hewn spaces. Historic walls towers Towers: Remnants of ancient concentric ramparts and medieval towers (Torre del Civile, Torre Giranda).

Outside the town along the coaset is the Torre Guaceto Marine Protected Area
